Clearing the track: the remaining transportation regulations
Article Abstract:
Congress has approved several legislative measures to curtail government regulation of the transportation industry. Congress followed up the Railroad Revitalization and Regulatory Reform Act of 1976 with laws deregulating air freight, scheduled airlines, trucking, bus services, freight services, motor carriers and shipping lines. However, much remains to be done before the transportation industry can operate as free as other businesses are from government regulation.

Big brother tinkers with grandpa's golf car
Article Abstract:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) is developing regulations for the newest form of senior-citizen transportation, the turbo-charged golf cars. The new golf cars, known as a low-speed vehicle or neighborhood electric vehicle, has been developed by Bombardier Inc. Since the regulations, which vary from one municipality to the other, may cause chaos, the NHSTA will probably adopt nationally the rules used by Palm Desert, CA.

Regulating the regulators: regulatory process reform in the 104th Congress
Article Abstract:
The process reforms in the 104th Congress of the United States is shrouded with unbalanced efforts and decisions. The Congress failed to come up with significant reforms despite the existence of hundreds of organizations and committees which can back up or draft the necessary changes. Furthermore, the supposed reforms were bipartisan, making it difficult for both parties to devise an immediate and unified stand.
