Compliance training is increasingly interactive; multimedia training programs are effective and engaging tools in companies' efforts to avert liability for illegal acts by employees
Article Abstract:
Companies are adding interactive multimedia training to their compliance and ethics training programs, a system which can be delivered via the Internet, CD-ROM on a personal computer or a company's Intranet. This kind of training offers a powerful, consistent, cost-effective way to deliver key compliance information and a way of documenting that employees have attained a level of subject mastery. Since these courses operate on computers, they can generate training records which a company can use to show a regulatory agency what it has accomplished.

The incoming president details new efforts for the year ahead
Article Abstract:
The strains on the capacity of the civil and criminal court systems arise because people depend increasingly on the courts to solve difficult social problems. Lawyers and those outside the legal community must work together to rebuild a sense of community and an interest in solving society's problems without the intervention of the courts. The ABA has several working groups to try and help with this effort.
