Demand for and use of advocacy services for persons living with HIV/AIDS

Article Abstract:

The enforcement and administration of four special HIV-advocacy programs during the three-year period from late 1991 through Sep. 1994 are examined. Focus is on the conceptualization of projects that would deal with HIV-advocacy services and the characteristics of their clients and services. Outreach services, self-advocacy services, case-advocacy services for individual patients, increasing capability are summarized.

Medicaid home care waivers for persons with HIV/AIDS: Program expenditures, participants, and policies

Article Abstract:

The analyses of the most recent and comprehensive available data on national program, which consists details of expenditure and participation data for all Medicaid HIV/AIDS waivers for the period 1992-2002 is presented. The results of a national survey of policies used on these waivers in 2002 and a comparison of the costs serving persons with HIV/AIDS in institutions and in waiver programs are discussed.

Service-system gaps for people with HIV/AIDS and additional health challenges

Article Abstract:

The relationship between the challenges like homelessness, psychiatric disorders, substance abuse and reintegration after incarceration faced by HIV/AIDS patients and the access to healthcare are examined. The results have indicated that funders and providers should develop programs that integrate HIV/AIDS services along with a multiple of other services that addresses these challenges.
