Health care reform may soon pass
Article Abstract:
A health care reform bill has been introduced in the US House of Representatives and may be passed by Congress in 1996. The bill is intended to promote portability of health insurance, simplify administrative procedures and provide medical savings accounts. The bill also contains restrictions on medical malpractice damages and elimination of joint and several liability. An additional provision would preempt state laws governing MEWAs to promote multiple-employer purchasing of insurance.
