Article Abstract:
The application of the criteria chosen by the Commission and the impact on the further development of the civil dialogue in the European Union (EU) are examined. The subjection of organizations intending to participate in EU consultations to the good governance principles contribute to the credibility of their submissions to those consultations, but simultaneously creates additional burdens for associations, and sometimes discourages them from engaging with the EU institutions in public debate.
