Research on the net effects of handgun policies on direct rates of crime and injury do not show a significant negative effect of laws on crime. Analysis of studies supporting concealed weapons-carrying suggests their positive findings are more due to unmeasured variables.

The fallout from FAS 133
Article Abstract:
The impact of the accounting standard, FAS 133, which was implemented in June 2000, on United States tax law is discussed. FAS 133 requires accountants to include derivatives on balance sheets and could have a major impact on business.
