Japanese cultural trade barriers and the search for an appropriate dispute settlement forum - an Australian perspective
Article Abstract:
Japanese cultural trade barriers are a significant problem for Australia, and a Multilateral Trade Facilitation Committee could resolve trade conflicts better than present methods or proposals. Other ideas include a bilateral panel for arbitration or unilateral actions derived from Australian legislation modeled after section 301 of the US Trade Practices Act. Japanese practices consist of attitudes, administrative guidance, keiretsu and distribution complexity. Existing structures such as the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade are inadequate to deal with such practices.

The influence of commercial law journals: citation analysis
Article Abstract:
A study in Australia of citations from commercial law journals found a small number of journals had the most influence. More locally published journals were cited, but Australians also cited several internationally published journals, revealing their international search for ideas. Twenty-two journals were cited, but five accounted for 50% of all cites.
