Dramatically improved on schedule
Article Abstract:
Odyssey Computing's On Schedule 97 personal information manager is a fully functional and competitive program with powerful features. On Schedule is available in single-user and five-user network configurations for $89 and $400, respectively. On Schedule's to-do list and phone book are impressive. Users are able to use either standard master address books or various customized books that are organized by case name. Attorneys, therefore, can easily find clients and opposing counsel who are affiliated with any case. On Schedule's phone book search display of these contacts is much faster than traditional keyword and category methods. The program's pre-defined contact information fields are both extensive and well-thought-out. The application links to either external word processing programs or to its own WordPad version. On Schedule supports TAPI, MAPI and DDE.

Become a Negotiator Pro
Article Abstract:
Beacon Expert Systems' $189 Negotiator Pro decision support software establishes an intuitive set of questions to take attorneys through the procss of negotiation. This process, often long and tedious and requiring multiple in-person meetings, helps attorneys arrive at a workable plan that can be reviewed before the negotiation proceedings. By presenting its intelligent set of questions, Negotiator Pro forces the attorney to consider a number of aspects of the negotiation that may not otherwise be considered. Users also enter in a profile of themselves and the other negotiator, and the software then generates a prediction of the negotiation. The program relies on hundreds of reference materials to derive its predictions. For help in brainstorming answers to each question, the package lists possible answers to each question.
