Rediscovering God in the Constitution
Article Abstract:
The Supreme Court should adopt a new definition of religion to interpret First Amendment cases, emphasizing supernaturalism, evil and salvation. The court gave a broad definition in United States v Seeger, including ultimate concerns and sincere belief. However, this vagueness allows potential abuse such as false churches intending to cheat on taxes or other grounds to oppose state laws. The Seeger definition came from a Vietnam War protester and draft resister in 1965, but its application has become too widespread and confounding.

Should Employees Be Held Accountable for Acting on What They Discover?
Article Abstract:
Employers should encourage employees to discover and report inappropriate or fraudulent business practices. Discovery is accidental and is not the same as action, so employees must be responsible for how they interpret what they discover. Discoveries require judgment, generally avoid ethical absolutes, and pose a problem in choosing truth over loyalty. Companies should create environments where discovered problems are recognized as problems and resolved.
