The Americans with Disabilities Act: are your wrists protected?
Article Abstract:
Courts should recognize carpal tunnel syndrome as materially impairing fundamental life functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act, protecting carpal tunnel sufferers from discrimination against their impairment. Carpal tunnel can develop into a complete disability of the hands. Court recognition of carpal tunnel syndrome will further congressional intent under the act.

The development of an international standard for human rights has been complicated by the discourse concerning Asian cultural values. Asian countries have demurred from participating in a global code of conduct under the reasoning that their social traditions demand a different set of codes.
