Microsoft is finalizing work on its Windows 98 operating system, the upgrade for three-year-old Windows 95. Users deciding whether they need Windows 98 should consider the following advantages: the new version will be faster and less likely to crash; it will be easy to configure and customize; and it will be integrated with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.0 Web browser. pricing has not yet been announced, but generally speaking, Windows 98 looks like a good value.

An evaluation is presented of Cole Valley Software's Legal Ease Marketing Database software, priced at $995 and up. The application provides excellent marketing support and was written specifically for the legal industry. It can be customized, however that is usually unnecessary. Users running Windows 95 or 98 may wish to wait for the next release, which will be a 32-bit version.
