Article Abstract:
Classification of UK employees can be difficult when analyzing groups such as officeholders, company directors, police officers, members of the clergy, temporary and casual workers, homeworkers, trainees, labor-only subcontractors, and Crown servants. Although officeholders, subcontractors, homeworkers, and Crown servants have been found to be under contracts of employments in some instances, by contrast, courts usually have not found casual workers and the clergy to be under such contracts. Trainees' and temporary workers' status depends on the particular circumstances of the employment relationship.
