Spies, lies and politics: a criminal case linked George Bush and Saddam Hussein. How to defuse it?

Article Abstract:

Peter Mantius' book 'Shell Game: A True Story of Banking, Spies, Lies, and the Arming of Saddam Hussein' unravels the web of deceit spun by a group that included former federal Judge Frederick Lacey. Appointed to investigate allegations of a cover-up regarding an Iraqi loan scandal, Lacey ignored clear conflicts of interest in accepting the post. He had close ties to the Washington intelligence community; President Bush, implicated in the scandal; the bank involved, BNL; and former US Attorney General Griffin Bell.
