Start-ups must plan for both success and failure; entrepreneurs should be ready to cash out at the optimal time or bail out if the need arises
Article Abstract:
A carefully devised exit strategy enables an entrepreneur to exit an enterprise when it has reached the end of its profitable life cycle, and the process of designing appropriate exit strategies can greatly affect decisions made in the business formation stage, such as whether to include enterprise dissolution provisions. Provisions for separating troublesome partners from the enterprise can also be included. Buy-sell provisions are among the most commonly used exit strategies, since they give venture partners the flexibility to separate at any point of the business's life cycle.

When bad news breaks, control tactics are vital; assertiveness is a more prudent tack than stonewalling when the threat of negative press arises
Article Abstract:
Corporations can best protect their reputations with damage control strategies which kick in before potentially bad publicity appears in the press. To do this, businesses must recognize such stories before they appear in the press and then talk to the media but not in such detail that business interests suffer. Companies might have to disclose some normally confidential information to bolster their candor and credibility. An effective strategy will enable a business to limit bad publicity's life and impact.

Prevention helps ward off bad press for firms
Article Abstract:
Law firms can avert negative publicity by adopting a preventive public relations campaign. One strategy is to appoint a spokesperson to develop a strong working relationship with the press. When problems come up it is important not to avoid the press or to overreact, but to deal with the matter straightforwardly. Negative publicity can also be prevented by approaching the media first or developing a press release.
