Policy-oriented jurisprudence and human rights abuses in internal conflict: toward a world public order of human dignity
Article Abstract:
The application of 'policy-oriented jurisprudence' to the understanding of the international law of human rights is discussed. The article states that policy-oriented jurisprudence, which uses a process of seeking out and securing the common interests of the community, offers a frame of reference for legal scholars, advisors, and decision-makers in addressing human rights problems.

New international legal process
Article Abstract:
The 'international legal process' (ILP), which focuses on how international law is actually used by foreign policy makers, is analyzed and the 'new' ILP, which add normative values to the process, are described. Issues include the origins and development of the 'classic ILP,' application of ILP to the methodology of international law, and a comparison of ILP to other methodologies.
