Using ADR to satisfy ADA compliance issues
Article Abstract:
Using dispute resolution to try to keep Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) issues from becoming disputes by improving communication at all levels is cost-effective. Various communication techniques can be tried early in the process of resolving issues. Problems with ADA compliance make it necessary for those with different perspectives to work together to find solutions, making ADA compliance ideal for the partnering approach. Partnering is a technique stressing early resolution of potential problems, before additional barriers to resolution are erected.

AAA's large, complex case dispute resolution program
Article Abstract:
The American Arbitration Assn (AAA) has developed the Large, Complex Case Program to address disputes that are unusually complicated or important and often end up in litigation. The quality of the panel of neutrals is essential in such cases. They must be experienced, knowledgable, committed and available to provide quality service. A thousand have been chosen so far. Special procedures have been designed for large, complex cases and a quality assurance committee has been formed.

An introductory primer on pre-litigation ADR counseling for the outside lawyer
Article Abstract:
Lawyers with little experience in ADR should not fear the process. It can be an effective means to serve clients, saving time and expense. ADR may take the form of arbitration by a member of the American Arbitration Assn, mediation by a third party, or early neutral evaluation by a third party. It may not be appropriate where clients desire to establish or argue against judicial precedent.
