Video display terminals: a survey of reported results, opinions and conclusions on the association of miscarriages with terminal use
Article Abstract:
Exposure to electromagnetic radiation has proved to have adverse reproductive affects on animal species, but it is unclear whether exposure to such radiation from video display terminals (VDTs) causes miscarriage in women. Though no conclusive link between VDT use and the human miscarriage rate has been established, employers should protect themselves and their employees by reducing long and up-close exposure to terminal screens. Product manufacturers should also act to limit their potential liability by developing and marketing terminals with low radiation levels.

A deductive method for treating expert opinions: an application to warnings and instructions (is it really "more probable than not?")
Article Abstract:
Expert opinions in products liability cases concerning the likelihood that product-supplied warnings and instructions could have prevented the injury at issue need to be based on a more precise standard of probability. Mathematical formulations to quantify so-called 'fuzzy probability' expert testimony are offered. These formulations stress the range and comparative importance of probabilities and allow for verification of experts' conclusions on product-related injuries.
