Who cares? Maybe we've no one to blame but ourselves
Article Abstract:
It is time for attorneys to address the flaws in the practice of law and in the judicial system. Law firm life is so stressful that studies indicate attorneys are becoming more prone to depression and excessive alcohol consumption. The courts are becoming less accessible, especially to average citizens with little money. Areas such as family law where mediation would be more appropriate are still conducted by the adversary system. There are remedies for these problems if only attorneys would stop and address them.

Busted, but not broke; jailed "entrepreneur" grosses more than $32,000 from diatribe against lawyers
Article Abstract:
Ex-convict Larry Fassler has written a successful manual for defendants facing federal prosecution. His second book, dealing with ineffective representation by counsel, is about to be published. James B. Craven, a North Carolina lawyer experienced in criminal defense work, disagrees with Fassler's negative perception of court-appointed counsel, stating that most of them do an excellent job. Nancy Hollander, pres of the National Assn of Criminal Defense Lawyers, feels there is some truth in Fassler's criticism.
