Networking for foreign direct investment: the telecommunications industry and its effect on investment
Article Abstract:
The level and quality of infrastructure has an important causal relationship with foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows. Information infrastructure becomes the potentially significant source of productivity increases and economic growth, and partly due to its role in attracting investment and increasing returns on the investment. The paper finds preliminary evidence of a significant link between FDI inflows and the level of telecommunications infrastructure that is present in the host country.
