Bold and timid prophets
Article Abstract:
Science fiction readers have two contradictory attitudes toward science stories currently being written, that the 'sense of magic' has either declined, or that the stories have become too magical. Science fiction writers should somehow balance the 'magic' in their stories by including both the possible and the impossible.

Insurance companies wield too much power in deciding the health care needs of their clients. This power should be left in the hands of physicians, who are expected to know more about treating people than those who are concerned only in making profits for their company.

Nouveaux cliches
Article Abstract:
Authors who attempt to be politically correct by using characters from multiple racial backgrounds and social situations can fall into a new cliche. Married, stable characters can be interesting to readers when such people become rare in fiction.
