Congressional restriction on medical marijuana vote unconstitutional
Article Abstract:
The US District Court for the District of Columbia ruled in Turner v. DC Board of Elections that Congress' attempt to prevent DC citizens for voting on the legalization of marijuana for medical use violated their free speech rights. Ballots from the Nov 1998 referendum were allowed to be counted after the court's decision.

The US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ruled in Free Speech Coalition v. Reno that the Child Pornography Prevention Act's criminalization of sexually explicit images created by computers and not containing actual children was an unconstitutional limitation on speech.
