Responsibilities of digital licensees debated
Article Abstract:
The obligations of digital broadcasters was debated in Washington, DC in Oct 1998. The Advisory Committee on Public Interest Obligations of Digital Broadcasters, commonly known as the Gore Commission, submitted minimum requirements in June 1998. Eventually, all broadcasters will have to convert to digital broadcasting.

Public radio station can exclude candidates from debate
Article Abstract:
The US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit ruled in DeBauche v. Trani that local public radio and television stations do not qualify as state actors and can therefore exclude third party candidates from political debate broadcasts.
