Article Abstract:

It is a sad fact that many past and present human conflicts arise from the erroneous practice of blaming one for the misdeed of his ancestor. To arrest such a practice, people must be made to realize that any one group does not incur guilt for any misdeed committed by any of its members. This shows that dwelling on the past is certainly not the right way to be productive.

Robinson's story, 'Orphans of Eden,' involves the offer by a visiting time traveler of the knowledge gained from a certain future experiment if the narrator has the right opinion about its morality. This experiment has many implications regarding children, people and evolution.
