Jules Verne, playwright
Article Abstract:
Known primarily as a writer of early science fiction and adventure novels, Jules Verne was also a prolific playwright who authored several plays, operas and operettas. Additionally he made play adaptations of his novels that included 'Le Tour du monde en 80 jours' and his most science-fictional and impressive work, 'Voyage a travers l'impossible' and these became some of the greatest successes of the Parisian stage.

Verne to Varley: Hard SF evolves
Article Abstract:
The connection between the early hard science fiction of the novel writer, Jules Verne and the later one of Robert A Heinlein, John Varley and others is traced. The enormity of Verne's influence is strongly evident in the works of the later writers of science fiction.
