LSST--The dark matter telescope

An analysis of the planned Large-aperture Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) project, the design of the telescope and the project's aims and funding. The aim of the LSST is to help astronomers answer questions relating to dark matter, dark energy, gamma ray bursts, supernovas, distant objects and asteroids that could possibly impact with the Earth.

CERN, a high-energy physics laboratory in Europe, is planning to build a more powerful particle accelerator, the Large Hadronic Collider. The US spreads its accelerators around the country while most of Europe's research is conducted at and around CERN.
