Issues related to a meeting of the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) in New York, NY, in June 2000 are examined, focusing on votes cast regarding current issues. Topics include a vote to not allow absentee ballots for board of directors elections, a vote to keep the limit of academic board members as one, and a vote to create a committee to discuss IRE future especially as it relates to board term limits.

New board members elected at Chicago conference
Article Abstract:
Five new members were elected and one old member re-elected to the board of directors at the IRE National Conference held in June 2001 in Chicago, USA. The conference was attended by about 900 journalists, and had workshops and round tables. The elected members also elected the contest judges for the next yearEs IRE awards.
