Safety Commission records can be released over objections
Article Abstract:
The US 8th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in Daisy Manufacturing Co. v. Consumer Product Safety Commission that the Commission (CPSC) must release to Capitol Cities/ABC information it gathered in an investigation of the safety of BB guns produced by Daisy Manufacturing Co. The CPSC ruled the Daisy Powerline Model 880 Airgun was not defective. Daisy Manufacturing Co. claimed that CPSC would violate the Consumer Product Safety Act if it disclosed the documents. The judge examined requested documents and ruled they would not damage the company's competitiveness if released.

Schools must release outside revenue records of coaches, other employees
Article Abstract:
The public has a right to know the income sources of public sports figures and the workings of public university athletic departments, according to a Michigan Circuit Court and the Kentucky Attorney General. The Michigan Court held that information on inappropriate offers from a booster should be released. The Attorney General released an opinion that, while the amount of income is protected under privacy rights, the sources of all outside income should be released under the state Open Records Act because who a person works is not usually private.
