Researching an assassination
Article Abstract:
A journalist describes his efforts to investigate the assassination of his father, Walter Liggett, in 1935. Liggett was a leftist writer and journalist. Minnesota Governor Floyd B. Olson is suspected in the assassination. Liggett had accused the governor of betraying the ideals of the Farmer-Labor party. The journalist investigates the murder case by using testimonials of various persons and records from libraries and archives. The FBI has refused to help in the investigation and is withholding documents, citing reasons of national security.

Rapid Response Unit to investigate murders
Article Abstract:
The Inter American Press Association decided to form the Rapid Response Unit to investigate crimes committed against journalists in light of the more than 200 unsolved murders of journalists. The network will try to ensure that crimes are investigated properly and promptly, and to bring more attention to the crimes.
