A computer-assisted reporting survey helped assess discrepancies in land sale, causing immense hardships to low- and middle-income people in East St. Louis, MO. Reporters involved in the survey conducted extensive information searches on aspects of buying and selling houses and indulged in step-by-step computations of the collected data before relaying facts on issues such as lack of housing loans and other problems faced by the financially backward.

Article Abstract:
An evaluation of the Special Leadership Accounts reveals that the twin $12.3 million accounts are appropriated each year by the two party leaders and are used for the operation of the House Democratic and Republican caucuses. It is discovered that the unaudited funds go for plane fares, big tabs at fancy restaurants and more than $3 million last year for incumbent protection efforts such as phone banks and media consultants.
