The author discusses Euripides' allusions to the 'Odyssey' in his satyr drama 'Cyclops'. Euripides employs the ethnographic nature of Odysseus's travels in the staging of his drama, allowing his Athenian audience to at once experience the exotic nature of foreign lands and to explore and scrutinize their culture and their changing relationship with the world.

Police officers in Boston were paid to be in two places at one time from 2001 to 2003 and many officers collected pay for overlapping shifts on at least two occasions. Police administrators and officers offered different explanations for the overlaps, from mistakes by officers filling out their time cards to errors made by the data-entry clerks.
