1999 commissions earn Avalon L12m
Article Abstract:
Avalon Television has reported earning 12 million pounds sterling as commissions for 1999. Avalon secured several contracts to produce shows including a new version of the BBC sports show QuizBall of the 1960s intended for a peaktime slot in BBC 1. The first episode of the new QuizBall, which is scheduled to film the first of two series in November 1998, will be aired in spring of 1999. The gameshow will be directed by Peter Harris and will be produced by Andy Jacobs. Meanwhile, other projects include the fourth series of The Frank Skinner Show, 1999 Christmas special, and two series of the comedy show Harry Hill.

Wise Buddah opens talent shop

Wise Buddah, an independent radio production outfit, has launched a new division to handle the development and management of its major radio broadcasters. The division, which will be headed by Samantha Dawe formerly of BBC Digital Radio by November 9, 1998, will include Wise Buddah's founder DJ Mark Goodier and Emma B. Wise Buddah, which also reported the hiring of freelance radio producer Alison Vernon-Jones to become its executive producer of its radio programming, is currently reorganizing its corporate structure.
