A helping hand

Article Abstract:

UK children's television programme makers are increasingly being involved in co-production with foreign companies as a way to generate funding and ensure large audiences. Co-production can generate problems of its own, namely location financing and differences in culture which may affect the final product. Co-production should be built on a long-term committment, not short-gains, allowing programme makers to explore different areas of children's television making without fear of financial difficulties.
