"1968."
Article Abstract:
Journalist/author Andrew Tyndall attempts to characterize the CBS Evening News of Nov 1968 with that of the late 1990s based on profound tranformations in television technology and in the TV program's journalistic ethos actually tells readers little about either. In truth, readers obtain a mix of what is essentially opinion, assumptions and misinformation. Among other observations, his reference to news anchorman Walter Cronkite reading 'military dispatches' is what is most offensive.
