Article Abstract:

The public has criticized BBC for repeating television program. Consequently, Michael Grade, BBC's Chairman has relented and promised to make BBC1 and BBC2, repeat free channels. However, this will entail enormous costs. Moreover, though the public grumbles about the repeats, some of the classic shows still have good audience ratings. So to define what is a repeat in public's opinion BBC will have to change the definition of the word.

BBC puts footage sales into motion

Article Abstract:

British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has launched an online motion gallery with an investment of [pounds sterling]4m to increase the footage sales. This BBC Motion Gallery, which helps the user to browse video footage dating back to 1934, generates 200 hours of footage a week. It is predicted that this innovative venture will generate revenue of [pounds sterling]20m a year for BBC.
