United Kingdom based Independent Television (ITV) which is going to celebrate 50th anniversary have to analyze its action plans for the future. Critics of the Television industry feel that the shares of the ITV are low, as they are not broadcasting good programs to grab the attention of the audience.

Does the future add up?

Television broadcasting companies are unable to capture the attention of adequate audience for their shows. Even so, there is a rush for producing programs for Internet. This does not seem a logical trend for future because the returns generated from television viewing are more than that on net.

Lorraine Heggessy has taken over BBC 1 and needs to turn around its falling ratings. The battle back could take a year, and even though ITV is its main channel competition, digital television will also play a part in BBC 1's ratings.
