Article Abstract:
The 2007 Edinburgh Television Festival was a chance for the UK industry's top players such as Jana Bennett, Simon Shaps and Tim Hincks to clear up several issues through panel sessions, but most of them failed to do so. Jeremy Paxman's MacTaggart lecture was long, provocative and passionate, claiming that industry players have forgotten the true meanig of television. The other sessions in the festival are also evaluated.
