Instrument relevance in multivariate linear models
Article Abstract:
A discussion regarding the measure of the relevance of instruments utilized in the estimation of linear multiple regression model coefficients is presented. A technique developed for computing the relevance measure using only the standard results that are derived from conventional least squares and two-stage least squares estimation is likewise presented. The developed methodology is further verified through its application to an empirical example.

Child care costs as a barrier to employment for single and married mothers
Article Abstract:
Child care prices act as hindrance to the labor force participation behavior of single and married mothers. Utilization of an enhanced Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) showed that the child care elasticity for married mothers ranges from -0.4 to -0.9. The effect of child care price on the labor force participation behavior of single mothers tend to be lesser as evidenced by a much lower child care elasticity value.
