Instrument relevance in multivariate linear models: a simple measure
Article Abstract:
An analysis of determinants of the performance of instrumental variables reveals that screening instruments may be dangerous and can lead to inaccurate estimations. Screening instruments however, may be used for other purposes such as post diagnostic tools. Finally instrument relevance may be increased by removing pretesting of measure relevance from the list of procedures.
