Seasonal cointegration in macroeconomic systems: case studies for small and large European countries
Article Abstract:
Stochastic seasonality is found to exist in the economies of Germany and Finland, while the UK and Austrian economies are found to be dominated by deterministic cycles. Multivariate seasonal cointegration analysis is used to identify the problems of accurately describing the natures and sources of seasonal fluctuations in national economies. A six-dimensional VAR of seasonally unadjusted quarterly macroeconomic system is shown to incorporate seasonal cointegration.

Lifetime and annual marginal costs of redistribution in England, Sweden, and the United States
Article Abstract:
An analysis describing lifetime and annual marginals costs of redistribution (MCR) is presented. The annual MCR for England, Sweden and the US is estimated at $3.53, $6.77 and $2.90, respectively. Lifetime MCR for the US is $4.46 while England rates at $7.96. Analysis of lifetime MCR in Sweden shows that increasing redistribution decreases poor and non-poor incomes. In addition, greater income equality generates lower income levels for marginal taxation.

Changes in concentration, turbulence, and the dynamics of market shares
Article Abstract:
Variations in the market shares of surviving companies are the prevailing influence on concentration, which is commonly relatively established despite marked market-share turbulence. A stochastic company growth prototype, estimated on UK information of 1979-1986 for more than 200 ranking companies, was used to draw joint forecasts regarding the changes in concentration and the durability of market shares.
