Voting over investment

Article Abstract:

A growth model wherein individuals have different endowments and different time preferences reveals that capital accumulation is lesser in the social-democratic system, where production decisions are made by the public sector, than in the capitalistic system, where the private sector makes production decisions. The social democratic system may also lead to Pareto-efficient capital accumulation.

The Catahoula Formation located in Texas is the most profligate producer of petrified wood. The Formation, which is 10-25 million years old yields agatized palm, grapevine, banana palm, oak and many other opalized trees.
