The natural distribution of cumin and its therapeutic history as a cure for colic and as a stimulant is discussed. It is popular in many Indian dishes. Tips on handling the seeds are given. Recipes include the Indian seasoning Garam Masala, chickpea soup with cumin and lemon, and curried mousse.
