Article Abstract:

The F/A-22 Raptor, the next generation fighter, maintains funding priority on the Air Force's 2006 budget. Proponents of the program boast that the fighter jet is transformational because it will have supercruise capability, integrated avionics and advanced stealth features that will allow it to attack fast-moving ground targets or an enemy cruise missile headed for American soil.

Article Abstract:

The United States Air Force is making plans for purchasing new long-range strike capabilities, which is seen as a sign that the Air Force has accepted reality regarding the need for updating other aspects of Air Force rather then concentrating only on fighters. The Air Force also plans to go in for developing a long-range unmanned aerial vehicle and procure new technologies.

Airborne transformer: Future UAV would change shape in flight

Article Abstract:

The Air force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in association with the defense advanced research projects agency is working on the morphing aircraft structures (MAS). MAS's goal is to develop an unmanned aerial vehicle that would cruise over the enemy territory at 35,000 feet, take pictures and change the shape of its wings depending on the mission.
