Astrium to lead European Space
Article Abstract:
Aerospatiale Matra, DASA and Marconi Electronic Systems have formally signed an agreement to form Europe's first tri-national space company, Astrium. Astrium is expected to be formally established early in 2000 pending regulatory approval. It will employ more than 8,000 workers, and generate annual revenues of 2.25 billion euros as Europe's largest space company. Main organizational activities will revolve around the areas of telecommunications, earth observation, science and launchers and orbital infrastructure.

A new owner for Sanders Telecommunications Syste,
Article Abstract:
Lockheed Martin Corp has announced a deal to sell its Sanders Telecommunications Systems business to Trancept Inc for an undisclosed amount. Sanders, a major producer of aircraft self-protection and tactical surveillance and intelligence systems, is currently operating within Lockheed Martin's Electronic Sector. Under the deal, Trancept will be eventually owned by its parent Spencer Trask and Co, Lockheed Martin and other financial investors.
