Canada to get new EW technology demonstrator
Article Abstract:
Lockheed Martin Canada has been endowed a contract, worth some C$2 million, for selected hardware, instrumentation and integration of an expanded facility to appraise airborne electronic warfare (EW) equipment and systems for the Royal Canadian Air Force. The firm will supply operator consoles and reinstall government-furnished equipment (GFE), as well as additional test equipment and instrumentation, into new racks as part of four major subsystems under the contract. These include an EW test-environment subsystem comprising the GFE RF stimulator, test and measurement equipment, and a type 1553 data bus environment. The technology demonstration site at the Defense Research Establishment in Ottawa, will use current EW threat-environment simulators/stimulators and RF distribution facilities.
