CSM Wolf Amacker, the 82nd Airborne Division command sergeant major claimed that the paratroopers walking around in maroon berets are absolutely confident in their skills and ability and restored faith and confidence in the city. Medical personnel from the 82nd Forward Support Battalion treated more than three thousand two hundred citizens of New Orleans, vaccinating more than two thousand of them and decontaminated about eight hundred vehicles.
