Article Abstract:

The US Department of Defense (DOD) has laid down a long-range course for developing and employing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned combat Air Vehicles (UCAVs). DOD's Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Roadmap attempts to define clear direction to the service and Departments for a logical, systematic migration of mission capabilities to a new class of military tools.

Waterjets can be effectively employed on small craft and fast patrol boats as the recreational boaters and special operations forces have recognized the benefits of waterjets. In the 21st century, high-powered waterjets are being utilized for propulsion on larger ships, including combatants such as the US Navy's Littoral Combat Ship.
