Article Abstract:
12 of the 47 political posts at the Pentagon are officially vacant at any given time indicating a chronic shortage of senior-level presidential appointees at the Pentagon. There are several reasons for this, intrusive investigations and financially damaging divestitures, but chief amongst them is the Senate members' propensity for putting 'a hold' on nominations often to serve their own agendas.
