On the rebound
Article Abstract:
The growth of the aviation industry in Asia is expected to be revived with the recovery of the region's economy. The recovery is, however, not expected to be even, as some countries, such as Indonesia were more gravely affected by the recession. The Asian aviation industry is expected to invite US and European partners in reviving its ambitious growth plans. The foreign aviation companies that decided to remain in the region during the recession are expected to have an advantage over those who withdrew.

Max Bradford, New Zealand's Defence Minister, stressed that the country is poised to acquire 28 US-made F-16A/B aircraft. At present, officials of the two countries are negotiating to refine the nature of acquisition proposal. The New Zealand-US cooperation is reflected through the former's participation in US-sponsored multilateral defense forums.
