Strengthening the real-world force

Article Abstract:

Senior US Air Force leaders stated at the Air Force Association's annual Air Warfare Symposium held February 2-3, 2006 in Orlando, Florida that the operational Air Force is simultaneously fighting the enemy and transforming itself as per the lessons learned from the combat actions to meet the future needs. They emphasized the concept of interdependence, the interweaving of various service functions for producing a more powerful and more efficient combat whole.

Senior U.S. Air Force leaders and other top military officials spoke at the Air Force Association's annual Air Warfare Symposium held on February 13-14, 2003, in Orlando, Florida, about the demands of the ongoing war with Iraq and how the Air Force is preparing to meet its future challenges. James G. Roche, Secretary of the Air Force says, the Air Force has taken on heavy new responsibilities since September 11, 2001, with no sign of a letup.

Civilians and uniformed officers at the Air Force Association's annual Air Warfare Symposium on February 17 and 18, 2005, focused on the daunting challenges that confront the United States Air Force and the effects of continuing operations in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. Another topic discussed was the Pentagon's ongoing Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) and the impact of major modernization cuts on an aging and overextended force.
