Thomson Marconi sonar wins Australian frigate upgrade
Article Abstract:
Thomson Marconi Sonar Proprietary Ltd (TMS) of Sydney, Australia, has been awarded an A$66-million contract with ADI Ltd to supply a complete underwater system for the upgrade of the Royal Navy's six ADELAIDE class frigates (FFG UP, Project Sea 1390). The company will also integrate the new underwater warfare system with the existing ADI combat system. The contract alos involves the installation of the new PETREL advanced shallow water navigation syste, the installation of a variant of the SEA DEFENDER system and the replace of the existing ASW sonar with the new TMS-4131 SPHERION sonar medium frequency sonar.

Hydrema mine clearing vehicle with Norwegian and Danish forces in Kosovo
Article Abstract:
Hydrema has announced the sale of three Mine Clearing Vehicles (910 MCV) to the Norwegian Army. The vehicles are expected to become part of the Norwegian unit of the Multination Brigade in Kosovo, to give the Norwegians its own organic mine clearing capacity. Hydrema said that it can provide on short notice mine clearing vehicles and other light armored contractor machines such as loaders-excavators and dump trucks which are needed in the rebuilding phase of Kosovo.
